Hanging with new/old friends this week...

Well my plans to post a new photo every single day went out the window this week.  I've been on a roller coaster of sickness and heath.  One day i feel like I've been hit with a ton of bricks, the next i feel relatively fine

I will catch up...that i promise...because i said so!

Had to go to Old New Castle again.  As I was leaving a fog rolled over the green.

Can you tell how much I love this place, there is a lot of history here...

Wrestling match...

One advantage to having 3 high schools within 10 miles of your office, ample sports shooting opportunities.  juding from the school calanders there is some kind of sporting event going on somewhere everyday till schools start letting out in June.  So I won't have to sweat not having a image for my 365 project for a while.

Tonight I drove over to Glasgow High, the wrestling team was having a match with Appoquinimink.  Here are a few of my favorites..

Paper Canaries...

Happen to go by the DCAA this afternoon, and found an interesting display in the atrium.  Hundreds of origami birds were hung from the ceiling.

It was called "Exodus: Canaries Fleeing the Coal Mine" by Erica Loustau.  If your in the riverfront area of Wilmington, stop by and check it out.

Good 'ole Hockey Game...

Was looking at the local high schools sports calendars, and it looks like there is something going on almost everyday for the next month.  Tonight I shot hockey In Newark 

Swim Meet...

It's been a while since I shot sports regularly, or any journalism style photos recently.  So practice makes perfect right?  I looked up the local high schools in the area to see if the sports teams were doing anything.  Low and behold, Carvel Acadamy was hosting Middletown High School at a swim meet right down the road from my office.

I spent about an hour and a half there in the parents section.  Went through the almost 300 images I shot and pulled the top 5 I liked and put them on my flickr account.

A little bit of history...

I had a meeting tonight at the courthouse in Old New Castle.  Afterwords I was given a quick tour of the place.  It's actually the 4th oldest active courthouses in the US, they still hold civil cases here from time to time.

We then went upstars to see the room where Delaware became the first state to ratify the U.S. Constitution.  Sometimes you have no clue how close to history you are...

Still cold out...

It's still cold out.  Don't think it was bad as last night, but it's still freezing...

hopefully the glow of a space heater will keeping you thinking warm thoughts.

Cooking...

Decided to cook tonight and i liked how the stream was coming off the risotto i was cooking.

Calm before the freeze...

Since there is a deep freeze coming that apparently hasn't been seen since the ice storms of '94, I stuck my big thermometer outside my front door just to see how cold it actually is.

Right now it's only on the 30's but that is suppose to change tomorrow.

This stuff it's amazing, it's addicting.

it was cold last night....

I've always had a knack for long exposures, hadn't done one since monsoon season ended in September. I've had an image in my head of car lights going up and down Pulaski highway. So I set out in the brutal cold last night to do it. Propped myself in front on a Dart bus stop for shelter and fired on about 6 shots. This was the next to last one I shot.

it's snowing!

One again snow is coming to the Delmarva peninsula. This time they were calling 2-4 inches, I think there is almost 6 on the ground.

This year I'm doing a 365 project. You know were you post a photo everyday. I decided to put that on my flick account. For the longest time I didn't do much with flickr, unless it was necessary. Like most free photo services, I'm not a fan of thier terms of service. I'm still debating how much I should have "in house". In a perfect world I'd have everything on one site, but if you want to get noticed, you got to put out some carrots. As always critics and comments welcome.. -D
